As
promised, here's some looks at what we glimpsed during the Universal Studio's Backlot Tour:
This view down one of the many streets in the backlot shows the contrast in architectural styles they can fake. |
A couple studio trucks standby ready with set dressing supplies. |
Uh … sure. What happens next Wednesday? |
"Ai-dee-skiddle-ee-die-dee-doo!" |
"Ah, well, lemme tell ya, pilgrim!" |
Typical Hollywood fakery. |
The tour also takes you by a row of famous TV and movie cars. (Gotta say, though, the original KITT looked cooler.) |
Another car made famous in the 80s. Cue the music. |
Then some cars from another 80s franchise. (Best time-travel movies ever made, not to mention one of the best trilogies!) |
They even had some prehistoric models on display… |
…and a TANK! |
Site of a famous onscreen murder. |
"NorMAN!" |
"Whoville" from Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas, starring Jim Carrey. |
And while many of the things we saw were fake, the plane wreck scene depicted below was anything but.
Still, the best physical effect found on the tour had to be this:
In part 3, we'll wrap things up in L.A. before a brief romp through my old college stomping grounds. That's all for now! |
