Thank you Lance. At the time of my parents divorce, my best friend told her dad, “I feel sorry for Cyndi.” He told her, “Don’t be, she is strong” I have since hated that phrase, “she is strong”, because I interpreted it to mean I was set-up for distress. I actually liked my friends dad...I still don’t like the phrase.
You are as life has shaped you, but that doesn't mean there is no purpose to it. Life is the fire, we are but hunks of unshaped metal, and God is at the forge. There is comfort in that, I think.
